W4 - Intersection control
W4 is the most advanced, user-friendly and widely used local firmware controller in the country. W4 operates all 170, 170HC11 and 170ATC controllers. This versatile program, which has evolved over the past 40 years, continues to impress. The instigator of the unique "Command Boxes" allows users to "customize" the program to accomplish tasks that no other program can accomplish.

W5-ACS
W5ACS is the most advanced, user friendly, and most widely used local smart controller firmware in the country. The ACS stands for “Adaptive Control System” and this name certainly reflects its critical function - Traffic Adaptive Control. W5ACS operates all 170, 170HC11, and 170ATC controllers.
This versatile 170 program uses terms and timing parameters found in NEMA programs with the addition of many important features not found in any other programs. A unique command box feature allows users to “customize” the program to accomplish things that no other program can.
It can collect traffic data from radar or video detectors and do traffic adaptive or responsive control by itself or driven by the central. It also can communicate with other locals for the optimization of the green band.

W4LRM - Ramp control
The LRM in W4LRM stands for Local Ramp Metering. This program was designed to control the flow of traffic onto a freeway. The basic idea behind that being, that if you can keep the average speed of the freeway up, you will move more traffic. Besides controlling the traffic on the ramp, the program also has features for extensive data collection both on the ramp and the freeway lanes (speed, volume, occupancy, and length).
The W4LRM can handle up to (3) three ramp lanes, one of which can be configured as an HOV by-pass or a regular ramp. The HOV bypass lane can be run sequentially with the other lane(s) or toggled so that the HOV gets every other green. The W4LRM can collect traffic data up to (6) six lanes on the mainline (freeway, merge, or exit lanes) and collect volume up to (6) six lanes on the ramps. The W4LRM can have up to 23 bins and 3 groups for vehicle length identification (Freeway, add, and exit lanes).

TechView
TechView is a sophisticated closed-loop software application designed for use with a laptop computer. It is a scaled-down version of Traffic View 32 for upload download capabilities and a great tool for technicians or engineers that are in the field.
A simple cable will allow your laptop computer to communicate with all Wapiti Micro Systems Corp. controller firm-ware, including local/ master firmware for the 170 controller, 170HC11 controller, 170ATC controller, 2070L controller, PC104 controller, Intelight’s 386 CPU, SBC Controller, and McCain’s Coldfire. TechView can also utilize wireless Bluetooth technology to communicate with your controllers!
